The Brunswick-Trinidad Sister City Association and Mid-Coast Regional Arts Program
Present: Brunswick’s first community outdoor mural
“Dance of Two Cultures”
Reason for Mural: Brunswick’s sister city connection to Trinidad, Cuba is unique and extraordinary. In celebration of a five year commitment to this culturally rich World Heritage Site by UNESCO, we are planning a large vibrant mural to be placed in the downtown business district.
Mission Statement: To bring the diverse communities of Brunswick, Maine and Trinidad, Cuba together in a shared project that will add to the uniqueness and beauty of Brunswick’s downtown area and celebrate the sister city relationship.
- To create an opportunity for local artists, businesses, high school, middle school and Bowdoin College students and other community individuals, to work together to create a new artistic statement in the business area.
- To create a large bright area of color, beauty, movement and cultural significance and to broaden the base of community understanding of Trinidad, Cuba and the Brunswick-Trinidad Sister City Association.
