Cuba Week 2010; Coming up  April 9-April 18

Here’s Our List of Events;

Friday, April 9, 7pm-11pm, Cuban Salsa Dance with DJ Rickey Hines, Elks Lodge, 179 Maine Street (behind Gazebo on Park Row), Brunswick, ME. 7-8pm, salsa lesson, 8-11 open dancing.  $10/person; $5/students & seniors. Chem-free.

Sunday, April 11, 11am-1pm, “59 Kites” Kite Flying Event with Nestor Gil, Watson Drive, (in the field behind Watson Ice Arena) Bowdoin College, Brunswick, 11-1pm. Join Nestor Gil, Cuban American Artist and Professor at Bowdoin, for a community event of kite flying, and learning about the history of Cuban kites. Pack a picnic lunch!

Monday, April 12, 7pm-9pm, Journey Back to Trinidad-stories, and slides with returning medical delegation from Brunswick at Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Refreshments served.

Tuesday, April 13, 5:30 & 7 (2 showings),  Salud! a documentary on the Cuban Health Care System, Frontier Café in Fort Andross, 14 Main St., Brunswick.

Thursday, April 15, 7pm, Presentation of the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana-Cuba’s contribution to the global healthcare dilemma. Join Lillian Holloway & Ellen Bernstein from LASM at Cram Alumni Barn, 83 Federal Street, Brunswick. They will discuss present day health care from a Cuban perspective.

Saturday, April 17, 7:30pm Grupo Esperanza, Frontier Café at Fort Andross, 14 Maine St., Brunswick will be hosting Latin Dance Band Concert. $10 admission.
